Hike 120: Twelve Apostles (Aberdares)

This was my first attempt at trying to reach the Twelve Apostles Peak. It is a rarely climbed mountain peak on the Aberdare Range. The hike starts at Njabini Gate and the trail goes up Elephant Hill and continues towards Mount Kinangop. The Twelve Apostles Peak is adjacent to Mount Kinangop. The distance between Mount Kinangop and Twelve Apostles is only about 2 km. But it’s a tough 2km! It is steep, very dense and there’s no trail. During this hike I only managed to reach the base of Twelve Apostles and turned back because of time. The bushwhacking took a lot of time and effort.
